Coalition Partners
The more common ground we can find together,
the more ground we can gain.
WashingtonCAN causes are, first and foremost, member-led and community driven. Not all work done by coalition partners may represent WashingtonCAN and our base, but we believe that we are stronger when we can overcome our differences, which allows us to cover issues in a more expansive and inclusive approach.
Health care is a HUman Right (HCHR)
HCHR Campaign is a grassroots community-labor campaign with the goal of securing the fundamental right to health care for all individuals in Washington State & our nation.
It is made up of supporting organizations and individuals from throughout the state standing together to create a health system that cares for individuals. Members of WashingtonCAN staff serve on steering committees that represent the organization.
Families shoulder to shoulder
Families Shoulder to Shoulder is a group of volunteers who show their support for families that are going through Criminal Court Trials, Clemency Hearings, Parole Hearings, or Resentencing Hearings by gathering support letters for the incarcerated population and their families. Families Shoulder to Shoulder will also show up in the Courtroom to support families during the sometimes difficult legal court proceedings. Families Shoulder to Shoulder is a group of volunteers who have been impacted by the criminal justice system or have worked in Restorative Justice.
House Our Neighbors
House Our Neighbors envisions a future where all people can afford to live and thrive in vibrant, cohesive, and climate-resilient communities. To achieve this, we develop, advocate, and mobilize for policy to realize social housing for the residents of Seattle and beyond. WashingtonCAN is proud to work alongside HON in achieving these goals together in Seattle and throughout Washington state.
Working Washington
Working Washington is a statewide workers’ organization that fights to raise wages, improve labor standards, and change the conversation about wealth, inequality, and the value of work. Billionaires aren't going to support workers organizing to take on income inequality, and the government isn't going to pay for it either. So it's up to you.
Services Not Sweeps
Services Not Sweeps is a Seattle-based coalition of advocates, service providers, community members, and folks with lived experience fighting to ban encampment sweeps during the winter and extreme weather events.
